 Acest studiu a fost dedicat pacientilor suferinzi de depresie majora. La acestia s-a constatat o dereglare a sistemelor de aparare antioxidanta. A fost demonstrata o scadere semnificativa a concentratiilor plasmatice de acid ascorbic (vitamina C) la pacientii cu depresie majora, in comparatie cu subiectii din grupul de control.
